As the child grows up, it becomes a constant concern for the parents to find the right kind of pre-school for their child. As you search for the best pre-school in North Carolina, you need to remember that your child is going through a very sensitive stage of his/her life, when he/she is being sent to be taught something outside his familiar homely atmosphere. As parents, you must want to put your child in the best pre-school in North Carolina. However, to get your child through a good pre-school you must do a thorough research on the different schools in your locality. You can go and talk to the principals of the pre-schools and find out their attitude to teaching young kids. The attitude of the principal and the teachers also matter a lot as you choose a pre-school for your kid. Finalize your choice of a pre-school only when you are absolutely convinced of the good environment of the pre-school.

How to Start a Pre-school in North Carolina

A lot of housewives in North Carolina are making a good amount by running a licensed pre-school or day care provider. The best pre-school in North Carolina has to abide by some rules and regulations and have to go through certain processes before they can open up a preschool. Here’s a short list of the key factors that you need to keep in mind if you want to oen a pre-school:

Number of children: You cannot keep more than 8 children at a time in their preschools. According to the recommendations of the NAEYC, the ideal teacher-student ratio has to be 1:8.

Background check: A thorough check of the day care providers’ background is probed into by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. A criminal record will not permit one to open a pre-school.

Handbook: The North Carolina Division of Child Development will provide you with a book that has all the laws and procedures required to be followed, in order to retain your license. Grab a copy of this to be updated on all the legal policies.

Workshop: A lot of informational childcare workshops are organized, which you need to attend. You will get to know about the workshops’ time and date from the local agency. Being able to provide effective child care to the kids in your pre-school is an important factor, that most parents would look for. Hence, enroll in these sessions and get the most out of them.

Home visit: Since a lot of pre-schools are held in the homes of the pre-school runners, unannounced visits are made by the North Carolina Division of Child Development to make sure that everything is running smoothly, whether all the laws are being maintained properly, whether all the safety rules and hygienic policies are being followed or not, etc.

Your child can learn a lot of fun things in the pre-schools. Such activities also help in his social and psychological development. Do not be tensed if initially your child is unable to grab what is being taught. Every child had his or her own pace of learning and picking up things. You child will also slowly learn everything. Story-reading sessions conducted in your child’s pre-school also help him grow with his imagination.

Identity or ID theft is a crime, which is not only targets adults but it also targets kids. The worrying fact is that many children are unaware of the fact that they have been victims of crime until they apply for jobs, student loans or credit cards. It is therefore important that you monitor your kids’ credit reports on a regular basis in order to make sure that the reports are not being tampered with. It is a fact that parents can be accused of the ID theft of their kids too, due to their bad credit reports. The pilfering process is done through trash, e-mail or forms like doctor or school reports that are not well secured.

It is therefore important to start with paying attention to the fear of ID theft by investigating unusual events and occasions. Investing in an office shredder is important as this is the correct way to dispose of any credit card or loan offers that your kids may receive. Kids and teens are easily targeted for ID theft and the instances are common than we realize. These might include situations such as 13 year olds owing mortgage loans or, for that matter, credit card debts. According to the findings of the Federal Trade Commission, over 40000 kids are susceptible to ID theft every year, which is very alarming.

Measures to Prevent Identity Theft in Kids

First and foremost, you need to teach your kids about the value of privacy. Many of us cannot keep our personal information private. This is why kids should be encouraged to keep certain details classified including social security numbers, bank account details, PIN numbers and passwords.

You can prevent child Identification theft by asking your kid to keep their social security cards at home. However, this is valuable advice that is applicable to everyone, not just kids.

Keep a note of the person or authority to which you are giving your kid’s social security number or photocopy of their birth certificate. There may be places or times when providing such information may be a requirement but you should note whether it is for creating a bank account or seeking admission to a school. If it is not any of these, stop to consider whether providing the details is at all necessary. Check with the privacy policy of those with whom you are imparting the details. This will help you to have a clearer idea about the purpose for the asking of the details and whether there are risks involved.

So we’ve gotten many emails about parking on race day this year. We are avidly working to make parking as easy as possible. We hope to have volunteers pointing the way to the best parking. If you want a heads up, your best bet is Reynolds Coliseum Deck in the middle of campus. Most parking on campus is open during the weekends too, just look for signs.

While I avoid Krispy Kreme like the plague, not because they are “bad” but because I know my limitations, I encourage TriangleJr readers to get out and get involved with the challenge or any other fundraiser.
